Mr. Essam Sharaf, Former Prime Minister of Egypt and Member of the Advisory Committee of the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, visited China World Peace Foundation on April 27, 2019, and talked with Dr. Li Ruohong at the "Belt and Road" path in Peace Garden Community. Their had three-hour casual talks and felt that China and Egypt, the two ancient civilizations, share some similarities when talking about their participation in the 2nd "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum. They talked about the opportunity of cooperation between China and Arab countries in social and economic development and cultural diversity, collaboration and balance of global governance, the innovation and entrepreneurship of women and youth, and the possibility of cooperation in finance, think tanks, tourism, and public welfare. Mr. Sharif also used music and music as metaphors to describe the melody of unilateral and multilateral cooperation. In the friendly and open talks, they confirmed partnership and agreed to find other times for further discussions. President of China World Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation awarded the “Peace Ambassador” Medal to Mr. Sharif, and presented his own book--“NGOs in China” and Album of“International Youth Photography Contest”co-organized with UNESCO.
